On March 8, 1946, evidence provided by the Radogoszcz district unit of the Polish Workers’ Party, secured right after the prison had been liquidated, was examined. The collected items included wallets, documents, letters, photographs, prayer books, medallions, and cigarette cases. Partially burnt personal items provided investigators with information about the course of the liquidation of the prison and about the identity of its victims. They also told personal stories of their owners, bearing testimony to their lives, affairs, love, families, work, plans, and aspirations.
