Walter Pelzhausen

Court files of the Radogoszcz prison warden Walter Pelzhausen, born on October 21, 1891, in Arnstadt, Thuringia. Walter Pelzhausen was accused of beating and murdering prisoners when he was the Radogoszcz prison warden from July 1, 1940, and January 17/18, 1945. On the night of January 17, 1945, he supervised the liquidation of the facility, shooting prisoners in their cells and setting the prison building on fire. He was tried by the District Court in Łódź, 7th Criminal Department, from September 8 to12, 1947. He was sentenced to four death penalties, forfeiture of property, and disenfranchisement. The sentence was carried out on March 1, 1948.

Adolf Orłowski, aka Adler

Prosecutorial and court files of the case against Adolf Orłowski, aka Adler, born on March 1, 1906. Adolf Orłowski, aka Adler, was accused of abusing prisoners in the Radogoszcz prison as a guard in 1940-1943. He was also accused of being a member of the criminal SS (Schutzstaffel) organisation. On December 15, 1945, the Special Criminal Court for the Appellate Court District in Warsaw with its seat in Łódź sentenced him to death; he was executed on February 22, 1946.

Bolesław Komorowski

Prosecutorial and court files of the case against Bolesław Komorowski born on September 16, 1903. Bolesław Komorowski was accused of abusing his fellow inmates as a prisoner functionary in the Radogoszcz prison in 1942. He was acquitted on all charges on March 10, 1952, by the 4th Criminal Department of the Provincial Court for the City of Łódź.

Willy Herman, former guard in the Radogoszcz prison and its branch in Widzew in 1940-1943, was sentenced on October 14, 1946, by the Special Criminal Court for the Appellate Court District in Warsaw with its seat in Łódź to three years of prison, disenfranchisement for two years, and forfeiture of property.
